Laureston House is a small, friendly family run home situated in a quiet area of
Dover. The town centre, seafront and Dover castle is a short walk away. Our qualified staffs accompany clients on walks or
wheelchair outings to take in the panoramic views.

is ideally suited, with easy access to the main bus route serving Dover and the surrounding area.
Effective
quality assurance and monitoring systems ensures that Laureston house provides a quality service. Particular attention is
paid when recruiting, selecting and training staff. Detailed and user friendly care plans are developed, with input from clients,
to agreed outcomes. The home ensures continuous quality improvement by developing and evolving to meet the changing needs
of our clients.
At Laureston
House qualified staffs are available to assist clients twenty four hours a day. Our prime consideration is to encourage client
independence without compromising privacy and individuality.
At Laureston
House we place a strong emphasis on staff training and encourage staff to achieve NVQ awards at levels 2, 3, and 4. Staffs
also receive in house training on topics that are relevant to the needs of our clients. As a result of this needs led training
we are experienced in the care of diabetics and several of our staff are qualified to administer insulin.
We aim
to make Laureston House ‘home’ for all our clients, therefore, visitors are most welcome at all times and we encourage
clients to entertain guests as they wish.
Clients
are encouraged to pursue their religious beliefs and the home will facilitate this.
Laureston
House receives regular visits from a hairdresser, chiropodist, optician and dental practitioner. The staffs are given considerable
support from the district nurses, including a weekly in house clinic.
We pride
ourselves on the quality of our nutritious home cooked meals and all dietary needs are catered for.
A qualified
instructor supervises weekly armchair aerobics classes.
Monthly
clients meeting offer an opportunity for feedback, comments and suggestions on all aspects of the service provided.
Clients
can remain at Laureston house until the end of their life, unless there is a particular need for medical intervention. All
staff is trained in palliative care and, with the support of the district nurses, this period of their life is sensitively
dealt with. Family and friends are also supported at this difficult time.
Laureston
house is registered under the care homes act 2000, with the commission for social care inspection, as a home for elderly persons.
